Ladies and Gentleman, Brothers and Sisters, we did it!!! We are going to finish the most amazing, bizarre and complex year ever!!! This will be the end of my 20th year teaching over a 30 year period. While every year and group of students are special in their own way, this year was different. This year was special because of what we did together. I feel that more students learned more math in my classes than ever. Thank you.
IT’S ALWAYS ABOUT THE PROGRESS
If you can remember back to the beginning of this year, I know that a lot of you were like “What kind of crazy class is this?!?” and just when you got used to it I would throw something new in. That’s because I have a growth mindset and I knew if I could just create the right conditions every, single one of you could learn a lot more math. The amount of growth I have seen in each and everyone of you throughout the year is amazing. Take pride in your growth because it is something you earned. Yes you. I helped create the conditions, and you and your teammates worked together but in the end it was your hard work and Growth mindset that grew your own mind. Congrats!!!
PAYING IT FORWARD
I am always working to create a better program that helps more students learn more math. Literally thousands of students came before you and helped me improve, now it’s your turn to help the next generation. I have created a survey in Google Classroom which I hope you all will do. Please think deeply about your answers and be honest. Everyone that does it gets 3% added onto your grade.
