WEEK 1: NEW BEGINNINGS
MATH CLASS RESTARTS MONDAY
In these crazy times it’s nice that we get to reestablish some normalcy. No we don’t get to see each other’s beautiful faces in person but we do get to start our distance learning adventure. For us it should be fairly smooth as we will run it all through our Google classrooms and Desmos. So come Monday morning, 4/20, log into your Google Classroom and start changing your grade, growing your brain and changing your life!
YOUR GRADE CAN ONLY GO UP
As of now your grade is up to date in your Google Classroom. If you are happy with that grade you don’t have to do anything and that will be the grade you get for the semester, but hey by now you’ve got to be a little bored watching Netflix and playing video games so why not do a few extra credit activities? Each one you complete will be worth 1% added on to the grade you have now.
MONDAY BECOMES 2s DAY
Every Monday morning I will load up 2 new Desmo’s activities in your Google Classrooms. They will all just be reviewing concepts that we have already covered like Lines, Domain and Range, Functions etc. You will have all week to complete them. Even though they are review activities there will always be challenges but don’t worry we will work it out together.
CLASS TIME: 9AM – 11AM
Monday through Friday from 9AM to 11AM, I will be available to answer any questions or help navigate any of these activities via email. If we need to have a video conference we can do it no problem. Together we will figure out a way to help you meet your goals so don’t hesitate to ask.
YOUR BEAUTIFUL FACES
I really miss seeing each and everyone of your beautiful faces so I will set up some video conferences next week through Google Meet. If you want or can join in great, if you can’t or don’t want to, no problem. If you have questions or want to talk to me personally we can set up a one on one meeting as well. We are all going through our own adventure and I would love to hear about yours.
GET CHROMEBOOK: 9AM – 11AM M,T,W @ GRANT
If you haven’t got a computer at home or picked one up yet you need to go by the Main Gym at Grant Monday, Tuesday of Wednesday 9AM to 11AM to pick one up. Many of these Desmos activities CAN’T BE DONE ON A PHONE so you need a chromebook or other laptop to do them.
SOLVING PROBLEMS
As you know, the more math you do, the more your brain grows and the better problem solver you become. I have done a heck of a lot of math and have become a pretty good problem solver. If you have a problem you are struggling to solve, no matter what it is, please don’t hesitate to ask. I may not be able to help but I will do my best as always. Remember, once you are my student you will always have a place in my heart and I will always want the best for you.
