RECTOR’S HAPPINESS, LOVE AND BRAIN GROWTH LOG: 4/27/20

WEEK 2: CLOSING THE DISTANCE

GROWING OUR GRADE/BRAIN

Welcome to week 2 of Distance learning!!! As of Monday morning over 50 of you have changed your lives and changed your grades by +2% by completing both desmos activities!!! Wow, I am sooo proud of you. I know that these are challenging, weird and sometimes a little boring times as we deal with our new reality but as we know the more math we do, the more our brains grow, the better problem solvers we become and the happier we will be because we will have more choices in life.

LINES, LINES AND MORE LINES

This week’s activities will be exclusively about lines. Both of the activities are well within your abilities and while they are review, hopefully some of the problems will be a little bit challenging. I have to admit that I really enjoy Marbleslides and while this week it is for lines in the future we will do them for other functions as well. (hint: Watch how they restrict domain and range)

CLOSING THE DISTANCE

As we work through our weird new world I want you to know that I am always here for you. So feel free to contact me via email, Google Classroom or Loopmail at any time. My office hours are 9-11 AM M-F so if I don’t get back to you right away just be patient and I will ASAP.

YOUR BEAUTIFUL FACES

Last week, after figuring out that Google Meet hadn’t been turned on for Google Classroom by the district, I managed to meet with a few of you on Zoom. It was wonderful for me. Thank you to everyone that was able to Zoom with me. I can’t begin to explain how much joy, seeing you, gave me. I really didn’t realize just how much I missed all of you. This week, we’ll have a meeting on Thursday and I’ll send out the schedule and codes on Wednesday.
