HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY
I hope you all are enjoying time with your family. I know these are trying times but as bad as things get or I feel I just remember all of the great and positive things in my life, my wife, kids, family, friends and you. No matter what the future holds we will always remember this year and each and everyone of you will always have a special place in my heart. Please don’t forget to watch the video immortalizing this year. I have shared it with math professionals from all over the country and world and universally everyone is impressed by what you accomplished this year. https://youtu.be/_xJn–JrH8s
GROWING OUR SYSTEM BRAIN
This week’s activities are all about systems. By working our way through these activities we will be growing our brains ability to see patterns within linear systems. Our ability to identify and understand systems helps us in all aspects of our lives because almost nothing in real life exists in singularity. Everything is connected to something in a system. Even when we do something as simple as having a burger at McDonalds we are affecting multiple interacting systems. The money we spend goes to salaries, farmers and ranchers and is then spent on other things which is our economic system. The beef we eat comes from cattle which generate huge amounts of greenhouse gasses which affects our environmental systems and the vegetables growth, harvesting and transportation are a bunch more systems. Wow who would have thought that eating a burger could be so impactful?
